Albert Matsuura is a native of Blackfoot, Idaho and comes from an agricultural background. He attended the University of Idaho both as an undergraduate and at the College of Law. He was a member of the Idaho Law Review Board of Editors and graduated in 1985. He clerked for the Idaho Sixth District Court in Pocatello, then practiced law in Blackfoot before joining Goicoechea Law Offices in 1990. He has been the managing partner of Goicoechea Law Offices – Pocatello since 1991.
His practice area is representation of injured claimants in Idaho Worker’s Compensation and personal injury cases. He is past President of Sixth District Bar Association and past Chairman of the Idaho State Bar Worker’s Compensation Section. He is a member of the American Association of Justice and the Idaho Trial Lawyer’s Association (ITLA). His has served on the Board of Directors of the ITLA and is certified by the ITLA as a Worker’s Compensation Specialist.
He provides attorney pro bono services for the Sixth District Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program and was recognized as a 2007 CASA Attorney of the Year. He was also awarded the ITLA Walter H. Bithell Professionalism Award in 2010.
Al’s wife, Susan, assists with office bookkeeping and business operations. When not in the office they enjoy hiking, skiing and other outdoor activities that Southeast Idaho has to offer.
